Breaking Down The 3 Key Financial Statements


If the idea of discussing financial statements seems like nothing to get excited about - you're not alone. Between the abundace of numbers, confusing terminology, and lack of aesthetics these financial statements can be somewhat intimidating, but with a little bit of basic understanding, these statements can be very beneficial to any investor.

Essentially financial statements provide us with a look at the accounting and financial position of a company. These statements allow investors, lending institutions, and management to assess what sort of fundamental position a company is in (think of these statements like a vehicle health report).There are three financial statements that we consider to be "key": (1) The Income Statement, (2) The Balance Sheet, (3) The Cash Flow Statement (also known as "The Statement Of Cashflows").
